The Problem:
Comfortable sleep for astronauts on long-term ISS missions has proven almost impossible due to disturbances such as microgravity, mechanical noise, and disruption of circadian rhythm.

Even nowadays, this issue has been left unsolved. Poor sleep hinders astronauts' cognitive performance, decision-making, and physical and mental health, potentially obstructing mission success and crew safety.

The SleeperBuild innovation is an ergonomically designed sleeping pod, biosuit, and headset, created to tackle the distinct challenges of sleeping in space.
By addressing these major discomforts, we aim to create an optimal resting environment for world-class astronauts, paving the way not only for future space missions, but also for the approaching world of space tourism.
WHY SLEEPERBUILD?
The Status Quo...
Currently, space agencies such as NASA, JAXA, CSA, and ESA, attempt to solve the challenges of space-sleeping by using ineffective stop-gap solutions, such as large and constraining suits to counter fluid buildup, and separate devices required to manage other issues such as temperature and airflow control. These piecemeal elements are isolated and non-fully adapted to specific conditions in space, taking up valuable storage space aboard and increasing logistical burden on astronauts.
Our innovation...
Other products on the market, including Z-drugs or eye masks, only tackle one or a few aspects of discomfort when sleeping in space. In comparison, our team has focused on integrating a variety of elements into one innovation to combat a larger portion of challenges that astronauts face whilst resting on the ISS.
Furthermore, our innovation is adapted solely for use in microgravity environments, whilst including sensory benefits like light regulation and noise-cancellation, which is something competing products (Vollebak, LIQUIFER, UTSW) lack.
